Default FFCS to VARAC’s VGP at CTMP in 2020

The Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada welcomes VRG’s Formula Ford Challenge Series to its Vintage Grand Prix, June 18-21, 2020 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Mosport).

Registration is now open at www.motorsportreg.com and there is a$100.00 discount until January 1. Your credit card will not be charged untilearly June, just before the event. If one race group is just not enough track time, all FFCS eligible FFs are welcome on our Formula Classic grid, for thevery reasonable extra fee of $200.00. And don’t forget, if you are coming from the USA, you get a lot more bang for your buck in Canada.

All monoposto race cars are welcome to our Formula Classic grid, which will be divided into three categories: Formula Historic (built before Jan. 1, 1973), Formula 70 (built between 1973 & 1989) and Formula 90 (built between 1990 &1999).

The VGP is event one of the 2020 Can-Am Formula Ford Challenge, with the second event scheduled for Watkins Glen in October. Canadian Daniel Burkett won this year’s series in a Canadian Chinook. The Can-Am is a race within the FFCS races. It is a just-for-fun series designed to create additional interest among American & Canadian competitors at these two events. Points will be awarded to each nation and to each driver and are weighted towards participation. More details will follow in the new year.

If you would like more information, I can be reached at pdsrs@rogers.com, or you can contact my cohort in crime Robby Bork at rlbork@gmail.com.

    Season’s Greetings,

    Peter Viccary

Lovely idea but you picked the wrong weekend. That is the weekend for the Indy SVRA and the Pittsburgh FRP races.
Do you have another weekend we could race at Mosport?

That has been the date (Father's Day Weekend) for the Vintage Gran Prix in Canada for longer than FRP or SVRA (current Tony era) have been around.

I am actually at PRI this weekend and spoke to Bob Wright of FRP about race dates and scheduling. Yes, there are conflicts and yes, it is a difficult year to effectively schedule without conflicts. As Bob put it, The Olympics moved NASCAR dates that moved all the other dates. So maybe you can ask the Olympics to find another year...

One week left to get the early entry discount! We already have 17 cars entered in the FFCS group, 13 for the Toyo Tires group, and a healthy 13 cars in the Monoposto group.

Click here to see who's coming!

Last day for early entry. We are up to around 30 FFCS cars, and around 20 modern Toyo Tire series cars! Get in early while you still can.
