Default Swiveling Spring Stud... anyone use

I want to more properly affix the return springs on my throttle pedal and on the carb. These are sorta secondary springs to a main spring that goes over the cable. This seems like a slick way to do it and reduce bind but I'm not sure about strength. Anyone use?

It has a 1/4 by 20 thread. Also you could look at the cad file in the lower left corner of the page. It looks plenty strong to me. If your springs break that, they probably are WAAAAYYYYY too stiff.

You should not need one on the pedal. If you do, your cable may have issues, in which case, replace it.

I have a push-pull cable (apparently was a USAC requirement). The pedal spring was there so I figured it wouldn’t hurt. I’m having a new cable built so I’ll try it and see how it feels. SVRA requires 2 springs so I’ll need a 2nd one at carb end anyway.

Steve, good point. I actually was looking at a smaller stud. Attached the wrong link but point taken.

See Carroll Smiths book on recommendations to use a compression spring at the carb end. Great idea.

Default more about the cable, not the spring....

A pal's Gemini formula junior actually had a hydraulic throttle linkage in it that I think came out of an Imp. It was tres cool........

I have the compression spring at the carb and a push-pull cable. Honestly, if that jams you are going to need a toe strap. I always argued my way around the second spring requirement (I suppose if the tab breaks off the linkage without jamming it up) by pointing out the weber has one on the shaft. Finally I just put another on the pedal just to shut 'em up.

I have a large compression spring. I just add the second spring (technically THIRD) to avoid the hassle.
