Default 2009 kawasaki ZX10 Transmission Modfication

    Hi All from Australia.

I'm enquiring to see if there is any Forum Memebers that might know the modification required to run a geartronics system in a 2009 ZX10 that im installing in my West WX10, I've been informed that a bearing etc needs to be removed between 1st and Second yet i'm not 100% sure.

Also if anyone has any information on a supplier of performance products in US they could share would be great.

    Regards
    Chris

    Hi Chris,

I've got only a little bit more information than you. As I understand it, there's some sort of lockout bearing in the gearbox that needs to be removed when using the Geartronics, or, among other things, downshifting doesn't work properly.

I haven't been inside the gearbox myself since it takes some special tools to get everything apart. I suspect if you get ahold of any race bike engine builders down there, they'll be able to do it.

Supposedly it's possible to do so with the engine in the car if the clutch cover can be removed in situ.

My engines (gen 4 Kawi) still have the lockout bearing, and I consistently have trouble with downshifts in my Geartronics system. Hoping that removing this bearing this winter will be the solution.
