Any ideas. Came with my car but I don’t think they go with my Staffs box. Dunno... the set on the far right has a smaller diameter dog ring circle.

First gear pairs for a Mk 8-9 Hewland
The two gears to the left are LD200 first gears, the gear on the right is MK8-9 gear. Steve put on your Bifocals.
But ....MK9 will have a 1.040 Major ID of the spline , While the MK5 will be 1.162 Major ID. Mike is correct , the tops of the lugs on an LD are in the shape of a roof.
If I’m measuring the GEARS what is the Major ID? I want to understand clearly.

The Staffs 4 speed uses Mk 8/9 gears, the 5 speed uses Mk5 gears

That was my understanding but I didn’t want to assume that. Note:

It seems there were some conversions. Steve D has a Mk5 in a car like mine I think.
The major diameter of the spline is the same as measuring over the top of the splines n the shaft, right?
Actually I have a Staffs most probably like you probably do Eric. Steve used them pretty much universally for a long time.
The Staffs came in 4 or 5 speed, just like the MK series. Just the 4 speed has some sort of a spacer where either first or first would go on the 5 speed MK and I think the same on the 4 speed staffs.
