I want absolutely nothing what so ever to do with any New or Old F500 Forum Run, Managed, or Administered by you! Based on how the F500 Rotax 494/493 car owners were supported by the AD HOC Committee, I don’t support you, and I will not support you in this class under any circumstances.
To the best of my knowledge all the of the SCCA Formula Car Racers are on this Forum! As an SCCA member for 13 years and a F500 Racer I want to be part of the SCCA Formula Car Racers I’ll STAY ON THIS FORUM.
Good Luck with your New F500 Forum!
Feel whatever you want about this subject, but it's absolutely not true. Regardless of the BS that Dix and his buddies spread on their forums after they were banned here, ApexSpeed ownership has never been dismissive of ANY class here on ApexSpeed. And this site was never primarily a FF site—not for one minute.
Beyond the obvious and understandable offense to this site and its founders, all the talk about copy-pasting old info into a new site ignores a dying principle -- seemingly erased from the common psyche thanks to tech...
Copyright. Anyone heard of it?
All - Let's take a deep breath. I felt like Doug's initial question was sarcastic, so I gave the short answer. That is all. We don't need another fight. I understand where he's coming from. I visit Apex daily and feel it is very valuable to the formula car community.
I can't explain why the F500/600 community has not warmed up to Apex, but that is reality and the reasons are not worth fighting over. I want to start a new forum for several reasons.
1. After a terrible year racing, I had a great time at the Runoffs. It reminded me how much I love F500 and I don't want it to die.
2. It is amazing how much I miss being able to log into the f500.us forum. I feel like our class is homeless and that needs to change if we are to survive.
3. Also along the lines of survival, we need to move on completely from the previous fights and negative perception they created. My personal opinions do not matter at this point. The new sight will be inclusive and will look forward, not backwards. I want F500 to survive and hope I can contribute in some small way to that goal.
Now, on a lighter note, I see that the craziest poster from f500.us has found Apex. Have fun Doug!

Yep, Scott has made his presence known.

Cory,
Before you go off and start another site first can we as a group try and figure out what it will take to convince Dix that it is in the best interest of everyone to have him transfer ownership of the site over to a group of us. This way when one person loses interest the site is not lost. This problem should involve EVERYONE who owns an F500/600 no matter which power plant is in their car. We are potentially going to lose tons of car setup information, extensive amounts of rotax information, and also the history of our class for the last ten years. If we can secure that then we need to try and get hold of Rob Howden and see if we can (if it’s still around) gain ownership of the Eformulacarnews forums and then go after Formula500.org who I think was last ran by Scott Newton and put them all under one “umbrella” controlled by a group of people.
These sites are the history of the class!!!! They need to be preserved!
Stepping off my soapbox now
Dean

I started with F500.org and then went to F500.us but frankly while at the same time using Apexspeed.
As most of us are registered here why not have another go at simply using Apexspeed?
Tom, I think that ground has been well covered.
