Default (Sigh).....End of Season (Racing) Hangover

Every year, I can't believe it is over. It is even worse with this year ending with a great weekend (on real race tires for a change!) at the 50th. I always feel "bleh" now, and this year is no exception.....

Am I alone here? Anybody else? What do you guys do to get over it? I wanna get back in the garage but....I....just.....can't......yet.

    cheers

    Dave,

It was an honor to meet and speak with you at the 50th.
You should go race Doug Meis and others at RRR in December.

Do what I did when my normal Florida winter was interrupted by a year in New England... browse the internet for your next race car and buy it! In fact, you can even buy the one I did...

You're totally not wrong.. my season ended over a month ago (ran out of tires, saving for a new motor), and already it's chafing. Gonna be a long winter. Even if there is a race here at my home track this weekend (actually can't run it, have a sponsor appearance already booked).

At least I'll be able to get back in the garage a bit after this weekend; been slaving away on my wife's ITB car for the last month (hence why my car was parked early), testing it Friday, then it too gets parked for the winter. '

Then time to start on maintenance and upgrades... and maybe a little more work on the garage, organize and improve, look for opportunities to make it work even better for me... think I finally got enough light in there:

    Default End of Season

16 days out to the Formula Ford Challenge Series Grand Final at Watkins Glen.

Upside: 37 entries to date with another 5 expected. 3 3/4hrs track time, Grand Prix circuit.
Downside: Driver conduct rules are enforced (See Road America).

No need to get too blue yet!

Get social and read. I read write ups from events (long ago and this year) and I find ways to get with driver friends to reminisce and tell stories. No adrenaline rush comes but the friends and laughter leaves me feeling just as good.

The hardest part is getting back in there. Just do it! It will be nice to finish winter prep, then get things organized nd ready for next year!

Try mountain bike racing. At night. Plenty of adrenaline and you'll get in shape or die trying.
