Love the log book pictures. I was just about to ask if the other side was lime green. :-)

    Gents;

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. That's not a race car, that’s a piece of art.

If currently looking to run vintage FF, this is a car I'd get and maybe over any other. First task would be returning it to lime and orange and GoJo graphics, then adding "Crew: Sandie" in deference to D&SW history — even though my Missus' name is spelled "Sandy."

I think vintage racing as a whole would be far cooler if people honored the original graphics in all the classes rather than just Can-Am and F1 mostly. Then again, that's what I used to do for a living, so...

Does anyone know the specific years of manufacture allowed within the various vintage FF classes — such as run at Road America?

It seems the DB-1 started an entirely-new era of speed in FF, so I presume one break is post-1982? (I believe that's when the first Swifts were built).

Exceptions to that were few, and this car was one of them.

this would be classed "modern" with the swifts and such. and not invited by some vintage groups / events. apparently 30+ year old cars aren't "vintage" enough for some! many are accepting the modern cars however.

i want this car - logical step from my Orange Zink Z-10

    Thanks Fitfan, appreciate knowing that.

Enjoy the Z10, wonderful cars, a long-lost client and race buddy ran one in Cen Div (Tim Evans) and I recall them being very drivable, tuneable, and durable.

So what are the specific years of vintage FF? If ever going that way I'd prefer a Lola T340 or T342 for having several friends running them — particularly Eddie Miller's T340 if it exists, or Gary Passon's T342 if it does.

I found Gary's old T324 Super Vee and have wondered for forty years where Eddie's T324 ended up so would consider those as well, in a perfect world of destiny. We full-time in a VW bus and have/had many friends in Super Vee, but the grids seem short of cars and I want to actually race.

But after quite a wait to do this, I'd first need to know the rules of eligible years of FF manufacture to make up for my being 159.

It certainly varies some by organization but the general rules are something like
    VF/HF- 1967-1972
CF- 1973- approx 1981- with out board suspension on at least one end
MF/PCF- 1982- approx 2000 but many club vary the latest year allowed. Or any year with all inboard suspension

The first 2 classes VF and CF are “almost” universally accepted by all the vintage orgs in the US. The third class MF is much more hit and miss. A quick survey shows a little less than half the vintage orgs allow the modern fords.

This car on treaded tires would certainly be competitive in the modern class even though it is a very early in that group. Come out an play, the waters nice. Todd

    Thanks for that info, Todd.

1973 makes sense as the ADF changed the game quite a bit. (Then again, it had Bob Earl aboard).

1981 does as well, if I'm right that the DB1 came out in '82.

That darned Bruns was sure a game-changer. Little wonder he ended up building great Atlantic and then Indy Cars. Genius.

    Thanks Again!

Default one of the locals in the Toyo series .....

...up here has this same version, same colour. A few of us were discussing it over this past weekend, as it sat there under the canopy. It was unanimous that we'd all LOVE to have a crack at driving one of these. Sooooo pretty

    cheers,

    Default Nope

When I look at the pics carefully, I'm now pretty sure that is indeed the car in the Toyo series. Jeff Bateman owns it. It is beautiful as I've said before, and it wasn't written off

    cheers,

    Default Ex Weitzenhof cars

That means two of Daves' cars are in Ontario. I sold my 84/87 F2000 car to a gentleman in Ontario 2 years ago and he had it on the podium at Mosport this summer. They are beautifully built and engineered cars.
