I have been considering some type of sim racing rig. Not looking to spend a lot of money!!
Doesn't have to be fancy motion rig.. I don't see using it that much. Just for fun. Something simple. Budget friendly
Thank you all for your suggestions

Len,
Kind of a hard question to answer without knowing more. A sim rig can be anything from a monitor and keyboard for controls to a seat, cockpit, multiple monitors, wheel, pedals, and shifter. Clearly, a single monitor and using the keyboard is cheapest but not much like actually driving anything.
Whatever you decide, the first step should be to look at the minimum and recommended computing and graphics power for what you want to run. I would strongly recommend being above the minimum and the more you are toward or above the recommended, the better.
Before any other upgrades, I would get a wheel and pedals. Price and quality are all over the place.
Cheap (maybe okay for occasional use but if you race on-line against others, you will be disappointed):

Complete set

What I went with:

add to that the T3PA pedals shown earlier.
I went with this because the wheel is more in line with the size of a formula car wheel. I can then set the degrees of rotation in the game and have a wheel feel that is reasonably close.
From there, it is simply preference. Chairs, multiple monitors, something other than the desk and floor for the wheel and pedals to mount to, etc.
If you have other questions about the various options, keep posting. There are a number on here that have tried various options.

Thank you for your input.
I have a wheel and pedal set. Mid Range. Logitech g29
What I'm looking for is seat and mounting system. Single monitor is fine for now.
I don't have a lot of time to use it so it is really just for fun, doubt I will be doing any online racing with others.. not anytime soon at least

Ah! That is one area I cannot help with. I use a desk chair and mount the wheel/pedals to the desk/floor. I would think that others here have had some experience. Or, search the term "racing simulator cockpit" on youtube. You will at least see what others have and what they do and do not like about them. Wish I had some practical experience to help you with your decision. Good luck.

I bought a cheap stand off ebay similar to this one - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gaming-Raci...cAAOSwLp1c28PX
Decently adjustable but very simple and works well enough for me. Stuck a TV on top of that right behind where the wheel mounts then a spare car seat on a foam pad.
Contact Frank at Ricmotech. Tell him I sent you to him please, as he helped me out quite a bit. I'd like him to know I'm out here telling people about him. :-)
He has options ranging from fold flat stands to DIY plans you can buy and build yourself. All the way up to motion type stuff.
Great guy to talk to and does sims for a living.

I've been using this one for the last 2 years, and I still like it. Very sturdy, monitor mount is an optional add-on (same kit for single or triple I believe). I did have triple 27's on it, but now using VR with only a single for OS navigation.

Never thought I'd get into sim racing. Used to just scope out new-to-me tracks on the original rFactor. Some local SCCA guys started a winter racing league and it seriously snowballed from there!

Thank you. That next level rig looks very nice. I have also been looking at this open wheeler rig

Has anyone use both of these? From what I've read it seems maybe the center post is not as desirable.
They are close enough in money that I would prefer to have the rig that works better
I appreciate all the input. Thank you all !!

Some one also suggested the Omega Art rig
From what I can see.. the center post might not be as comfortable once sitting. The Omega or Next Level rigs would be harder to get I. It out.
As of now I think it will be one of those three
All input welcome

Low-tech, scrap-built, same seat-angle and distance as the Swift, and cheap.

Talent usually ends up in front, but fun goes from the front of the grid all the way to the back.
