Default BURTON POWER - UK Purveyor of parts

I have had the camshaft for my 2.0L Renault reground. Looking to add a few HP/Ft#s to the mix in my "Spec/non-Spec Renault Racer." I'm quite used to scouring the planet for 1980's Renault bits, but this mod gets outside my typical parts sources; Poland, Latvia, Tel Aviv, Russia, etc

As you might expect a regrind requires new bits and we're doing a complete valve job, port and polish completed. But, having been all over the inter-web searching for the "right stuff," it looks like Burton Power has what I need.

Specifically I need specs - as they are:

    EXHAUST
    INTAKE
    Valve diameter: 1.377" (35mm).
    Valve diameter: 1.653" (42mm).
    Valve length: 4.26" +/- 0.02 (108.2mm).
    Valve length: 4.26" +/- 0.02 (108.2mm)
    Valve stem: 0.315" (8mm).
    Valve stem: 0.315" (8mm).

    They have:
    EXHAUST
    INTAKE
    Valve diameter: 1.360" (34.54mm).
    Valve diameter: 1.625" (41.28mm).
    Valve length: 4.275" (108.59mm).
    Valve length: 4.275" (108.59mm).
    Valve stem: 0.310" (7.87mm).
    Valve stem: 0.311" (7.90mm).

My inquiry is not regarding the "goodness" of the fit, but their goodness, Burton Power. Any thoughts anyone would like to share? They have an extensive catalog, but the intake valves are on B/O. Pegasus and the usual suspects weren't any help.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Cheers - Jim

    Hello Jim,

I have used Burton for some unusual Lotus Twincam parts for my Lotus Elan. They are reputable and stand behind their products. One of my fellow Elan owners sourced a set of conrod bolts and found them to be the incorrect yield strength upon torquing them up. Burton immediately replaced them.

They are solid, been in business for decades and I've used them for decades with no problems.

    Gentlemen -

Thank you all. Responses are just what I needed. I'll be placing an order.
Hopefully they can source those intake valves on back order.

    Regards, Jim

Another thumbs up here for Burton. Great products and extremely fast shipping. The longest it has taken for me to get something from them was 4 days. Plus the British Sterling Pound is weak at the moment which makes the exchange rate better.

    Default Burton Power

I built a 200 hp Pinto for my FC. Purchased cam kit, intake manifold, etc... from Burton Power.
Absolutely no issues. Good service. Just takes long time to get across the big pond.

    Default Follow-Up

Thanks to all for the words of support and experience with Burton Power.

I too can add my name to the list of affirmative supporters!
The intake valves I needed were listed as "out of stock." I contacted "sales" and they answered right away, the'd be in contact with the supplier, and advise when available. The NEXT Day, I had a message they'd be inbound. I placed the order and true to form, the package was at the machine shop this morning.

We'll know when assembly begins and my reground camshaft, valves and cylinder head all come together. Keepers, retainers, springs, seals and seat regrind all part of the quest for a few more "ponies." Breathe a little more into the 2.0L Renault engine.

    Cheers - Jim
