    Default Looking for Metric SHCS

Looking for 8mm x 1.00-35mm or 40mm long Socket Head Cap Screws for my GTP from uprights. Prefer made in USA.
Tried Wurth, Holo-Krome, MSC, Coastal. All that I can find are imports from McMaster or other sources found by Google.

    Any other leads?

It was originally thought that the studs that I want to replace were 1.25 pitch embedded in the upright and 1.0 on the nut side. After removal it was found that both ends of the stud were 1.00 mm pitch.

    Thanks!
    Bob

Yes, I saw that they showed these on their site the other day but I’m pretty sure they are imported. I have two fasten all’s nearby I guess for the price it won’t hurt to order them and see what shows up.

    Thanks

To each his own, but I will take McMaster Carr hardware all day long over anything from Fastenal. I have never had a positive experience with Fastenal and feel violated any time I have to buy there.

For high quality studs, I often use set screws. It appears McM Carr has M8-1.0x40 set screws 99642A151 which may solve your issue. Studs are usually preferred over bolts in uprights. I have used several different style long M8 bolts with full thread on our Mygale uprights, all purchased from McM Carr. and never had an issue. The Mygale uses M8-1,25x50 bolts (essentially as studs) to attach the camber blocks and shims to the upright casting and I have never had to change one that did not hit a wall at 100mph.

    Brings back memories...

When I still worked at Firestone in Akron, there was a Fastenal a couple of miles from work. Even though I bought stuff under a Firestone PO for work, they were a PITA to work with. And it was even worse if I tried to buy anything directly for myself.

Don't know where these are made, but I trust Belmetric bolts to hold my car together https://www.belmetric.com/8x10-fine-...ad-p-5138.html
