    Default Moving to Tennessee

    Hello everyone,

I'm moving to Tennessee and after a few hours searching on the interwebs, I am unable to find any Formula racing groups in Tennessee (or AL, GA, KY, OH, IN). I must not be looking in the right place or searching for the right things. I can find SCCA and NASA groups in those regions but none of them host Formula racing. Would anyone be so kind as to point me in the right direction?

ProAuto Sports in Arizona was amazing. I didn't realize what I had until it was gone.

Formula Ford Challenge Series in conjunction with VRG has races throughout the NorthEast
    SVRA has events everywhere
Right Coast has events near you
    FRP has events as well.

What kind of formula car racing are you looking for?

When you mentioned TN, I thought Southeast, but I guess it depends on what part of TN (east, west, north, ...)

If you are interested in SCCA Club Racing, I'd look for the closest tracks and see what SCCA regions run there. I think there are a couple of SCCA regions in TN.

After that, it may depend on what class you'll be running (and level of competition?).

There are two Formula guys in Murfreesboro, two (including another recent transplant) near Knoxville, another SCCA FF guy around Nashville and some amazing cars with a guy near Memphis. I mostly just know FF guys so there may be more but probably not a lot more in TN!

I’m going to be really close to Murfreesboro. I’d love to get in touch with them, if that’s an option. Do you know what class of Formula they run?

One is me (see info under my name! )

I have several cars, had been running SCCA FF with my DB6 but got a March VFF last year and have done 2 SVRA races this year, one at RRR near Savannah GA and the other at Road Atlanta. Missed the Barber race but plan on the SVRA event at MidOhio next month.

My friend has a Lotus 61 and is restoring a LeGrand FB

Too bad Nashville Superspeedway no longer hosts SCCA events. That's in (some of) y'all's back yard.

Or maybe not so bad. It had a nasty transition from the road course to the oval.

Seems like I heard about a new road course in KY, but could be wrong.

The NCM race track near the Corvette Museum is nice, has events.

I'm not very sad about Nashville closing. Horrible roval!
NCM has had 1 SCCA race event and none since, as far as I know. They run SCCA TT events but as we know, no Formula cars....

Looks like you'll be about an hour from Graham and I in Murfreesboro. I actually met an FRP F2000 dad yesterday, who lives in Nashville! The only other "Middle TN" Formula guy I'm aware of is FF'er Dave Livingston Jr, who I think is in Nashville.

Living closer to Franklin may have been more convenient regarding services, shopping, eating, etc., but I am wholly unfamiliar with Fairview!

thanks Garey, I will definitely give you a shout and come visit after I get settled if that's alright. Fairview is relatively quiet, but I suspect it'll be the next place to grow more rapidly as your side out east and south around Spring Hill has quickly grown. I'll be about half hour from downtown Nashville and 25 minutes from Franklin.
I've got several cars I'm looking forward to driving on TN back roads so being an hour away doesn't deter me from heading your way! Have to build another garage shop though, since the house only has a 3 car.
