    Default FF50th @ Road America: Pre-Registration Updates

I want to thank the 200+ drivers who have pre-registered for the FF50th @ Road America. Here are five great things made possible by knowing the number and mix of entries this far in advance:

    (1) A third Formula Ford only race group has been added to the schedule. Cars are being assigned to the three race groups as follows:
Group A = VFF on treads
Group B = CFF on treads
Group C = FF on treads or slicks plus CFF on slicks

    (2) With the third race group, it is now quite likely second entries on a cross-over (one driver, one car, two race groups) will be confirmed. The priority remains maximizing the number of drivers experiencing the FF50th. Cross-over entries will be confirmed beginning August 1. Once confirmed, cross-overs will not be bumped by a regular entry. If you did not indicate a cross-over entry on your Driver & Car Questionnaire, let me know and I will add you to the list.

    (3) Paddock parking is being assigned in advance. No land rush, you will be escorted to your paddock location after a quick visit to registration at the track. If you have yet reserved a paddock spot, let me know and I will connect you with Kathy Newton.

    (4) About a third of the drivers at the FF50th will be new to Road America. A rookie orientation is being planned. More on that in a separate post to follow.

    (5) We have budgeted for 500+ people at the Formula Ford 50th Reception Thursday evening right after the untimed practice sessions. It will be a great kick-off to the weekend.

With your early commitments, the VSCDA’s FF50th team can now move from the planning phase to the execution phase of this very big project. Regular registration will be opening soon. Until then, the pre-registration window will remain open. Here is the link to the VSCDA’s FF50th pre-registration page: https://vscda.org/ff50th-road-america-pre-registration/

    Default Pre-Registration Update

The FF50th pre-registration window is closed. No worries, regular registration (to complete pre-registration and for new entries) will open in early May. With the addition of the third Formula Ford only race group, there are no immediate capacity constraints. Confirmations on cross-over entries (one driver, one car, two race groups) will follow at a later date.

Many thanks again for the 200+ pre-registrations...your early commitments made the third race group happen.
