Default Going crazy trying to find this stupid part.......

I would have thought this was going to be easy. I was very wrong.
I don't know if I'm asking too much, looking in the wrong places, I just don't know and I'm turning to you guys for any help.

I am modifying my fuel filler cap on my Lola T202. At present, it has a radiator type cap on the rubber neck of the fuel cell that I strongly suspect was/is OEM from Lola back in 1971.

I added a 6inch piece of fuel hose, 1-1/4" ID as an extension so I can see when the tank is full without having a second spotter with a flashlight.

I have the old filler cap on and it works but I want to add a spin on cap.
I am looking for this or something close to it...

I need it to be an outside diameter of 1-1/4 inches so I can slip it into the fuel hose and clamp it.

I can find them 1-1/2" OD all day but none in the smaller 1-1/4" size.

I have no access to a lathe or I would just spin one up myself. If anyone wants to do that for me, I will pay them.

    Please help........

    Have you tried:
    1) ebay
    2) searching for radiator caps.

I found my odd fuel cell cap on eBay as a “tuner” radiator cap. I added my own viton gasket.

Check with Earls Indy. They have had different caps and necks that car be welded to a tube to make what you want.

I have one of those sitting on a shelf at my shop. Not certain of its size. I can check if you would like me to.

I did go there looking months ago, but no luck then, perhaps I'll try again.

1" schedule 40 close nipple cut in half with a cap. Both of course with NPT threads. ??
kinda agricultural looking but may work. A little sculpting would lighten them and improve the appearance.

fillernecksupply.com has a 1" weld on neck and cap. Weld to a piece of tube if all else fails. Good luck

I use a trans funnel to fill it so you can look down the tube while pouring and see where the level is. That doesn't help the screw on cap problem but it saves me from having someone "spotting". Good luck.

Glenn Taylor lives close to you up there, I’ll bet he could make that in his sleep.

I know someone mentioned them above, but they have LOTS of stuff and have been a reasonably priced source for many project items I have needed.

If you google map his house and my house, we are exactly 1/2 mile apart. Google maps says it will take a whole 10 minutes to walk but I will be climbing a whopping 23 feet in elevation! Thanks for that heads-up, I will blame it on "Cranial Flatulence"

Can't you just weld a 1.25" OD pipe to the bottom of the 1.5" part and call it a day ?

How about an AN 929 cap and an AN 832 bulkhead fitting in size -20. I don't have a -20 fitting to measure but looks close to 1.25. Modify the 832 into push on.

I have a flanged fuel filler neck and cap from a late model Van Diemen that is 1 1/4” OD that should work.
I can cut the flamge off and it would be about 3” long.
send me a PM if interested.

Could use 1.25 push-on to 1 1/4 npt fitting. Meziere makes a lot of their own custom fittings for their water pumps like a WA16125.

    Default Problem solved, thanks everyone........

I was trying to solve this with a one step solution. After considering all the above suggestions, I combined them all into a very workable solution that can be done in two steps.

First, buy the 1.5" threaded fitting with fuel-proof cap from "Filler Neck Supply", one hit on the Visa card.

Second, walk the 2500 (OK, 2500 steps...) to Glenn Taylor's shop with the 23' elevation change, weld on 1.25" extension to fit my fuel hose, ("We do it all the time...") one hit on the wallet or liquor store for 6-pack, maybe both.

As my much better half Su is so fond of pointing out to me, "It's only the merely obvious you have a problem with...."

It’s more fun to overthink, isn’t it?
