Steve - I'm not sure many people are aware but Penske is making the black shocks again. They have been slightly updated, but are back to a small diameter similar to the original blacks.

Thanks for that info. I was not aware, but am hoping for a less expensive option. I'd like to revalve my shocks, but would prefer to test on a different set so I could quickly return to what I have, if it comes to ...uh..ohh .

As Michael said, they are making them again... but they definitely are a bit pricey. That being said, at least you would be able to get parts quickly & easily if you bust one up. That may be worth the price in itself if you have to have custom parts made for old ones. Plus, they have an adjustable option that we have found very nice.
When I got mine, I sent my old blacks to Penske, and they dyno'd & matched them. Geoff Miller is their sportscar/road racing guy & has come to races with us, so that is who we went through. It was great to have them interested & working with us little guys again.
