Here was my cheat sheet for the engine harness stuff. bottom is how to wire up the stuff for the starting and running. center section describes the different sensors. I didn't have the EXCVA on there for some reason but i think i just disconnected it and pulled one of the wires from the ecu plug.

basic things are:
clutch switch needs relay during start or you will be stuck in safe mode
side stand switch short
tip over needs a resistor as described below
ignition switch needs a resistor to simulate the key being in circuit
