i know that this is just a technical issue, but in the SCCA a lap record can only occur during a race. That is just the rules. So no matter how fast you go in any session, other than a race, it is not considered a lap record

I have no doubt that the Griiip can break the existing lap record. In decent race conditions!

I get frustrated reading about lap records when there is no way to find out what they are.

But really, way cool engine. $10k is crazy spicy, but still super cool.

The price may be comparable to the GSXR counterpart considering the rebuild interval & costs associated with servicing. I remember the reading the S1000RR engine was going for much longer in between before needing a refresh.

Along those lines (and maybe counter to the above), check out the maintenance schedule for the RSV4. I took this out of my service manual for a MY17.
