While it looks like a Crossle 60f from the top, they had a flat bottom.

While on the subject of Crossle's do you have the mold for a 40/45f nose?

    Default Nose mold identification

Yes we have a lot of Crossle molds. The 45 nose and tail plus 32,35, 47 and would need to check for others.

Thank you all for some directions. I was surfing and it looks similar to the Reynard below.. It could be a hybrid nose John made as he made some development
    molds for some formulas.

I would second the euroswift- maybe '88 or '89. I know John made a couple of '88 noses for me.

'86 Reynard F2000. I recall discussing a replacement nose w/ John years ago.

i had a 90 (or maybe 91?) euroswift and the flared front rocker cover section was part of the main body. The nose itself was separate and less coke bottle shaped than that.

    Default Nose mold

I believe it’s for a model with an exposed crush structure or side panels that extend past the front bulkhead due to the low side profile. I’m also thinking it is a top nose piece section and there is a second mold that forms the bottom tip of the nose. Maybe the bottom tip of the nose is part of the front wings on a FC. Another reason why I think it’s a top piece of a nose is the angle of the aero flares that covers the suspension pick up points, so I don’t think the nose slants down like that of a RF88/89 Van Diemen. Also, don’t forget, we are looking at a mold and the actual piece will look less bloated.

    Default Nose mold identification

Ian, you are thinking what I am thinking. A Nose box or forward structure was used to make this work because the nose is longer than a typical Reynard nose mold. Note-we have a significant inventory of Reynard molds to compare. The Reynard nose molds typically have a big curve where they adjoin the main cockpit body. I need to take some more measurements at back to confirm width.
I believe it was a development mold and the rules would need to have allowed a longer nose.
If it is a Reynard, it definitely was more aero friendly.

Thank you everyone for the input. I will post some measurements and a closer picture where It has a half of a wing pole cut out where the nose steps down. Also I need to rummage through our 400 plus molds to see if I find a sister to this mold.

Merry Christmas and Fast wishes to everyone for the New Year.

I also have some pics of a 90 Euroswift FC. Very long nose but I believe it has the wrong shape on top.

90 euroswift was very similar to reynard nose. long and pointey. A lot of people initially mistook my euroswift for a reynard

IIRC, there was a Reynard nose developed by Bobby Carville(?) that was much more pointy and aero friendly. It would have been '89-'90 ish.

That nose is disproportionately long with a strange step ...... must have been one ugly car with 5 ft of nose in front of the front suspension. I am sure one of us would have recognized it if a FF or F2000 car. I am thinking F500, FSAE, or parade vehicle.

I have no idea, but it doesn't look to match any of the pics thus far.

It looks ugly, so I'm going to guess a successful whatever it was (function over form).

Old post but still not solved? Its not a Martini - I bought the two Martini SV cars from Evergreen (including the one in the pic which is the one Scott died in running FA at the runoffs in 89) Ran them in Pro SV in 89.. We made our own wings and modified the noses for FA. I'm pretty certain its not a mold for Mk53 SV/FA (or Mk47 SV) as I had full mold sets for both of them and that's not it. See pic off Mk53 sister car.

Yeah, yours was a '91 IIRC.

It's almost a match for the rocker cover, but the nose was much more of a rocket nose than a shovel... that said, looking again I see the parting line is ahead of the rocker covers, which would've been part of the main upper body...

Front rockers, tie rods and a-arms are still there, along with the frame. That's almost it, at this point.

    Default Not an 88-92 Reynard

Nope, not an 88-92 Reynard...not even close. Noses are shorter and pointed. Has more of a potential to be an 82-84 Reynard mold. Now wide is it?

Looks a lot like a DB-1 or DB-6 piece with the shovel nose, stepped side, and cutout for lower forward A-arm mount and upper rocker mount. Did any of the older Euroswift SE-3s use a shovel nose before going to the pointed nose?

85-86 Reynards had a pointed nose, not a shovel nose like this mold. The 88-92 Reynards also had pointed noses. The 82-84 Reynards had a shovel nose, but it was much wider than this mold appears to be. None of the Reynards would have the stepped side that this mold appears to have to mate with the side panels.

I am still curious if this mold matches any derivatives of the Swift DB1 or the 85-86 Van Diemen.
