    Default PI Dash help

I've picked up an older car with a PI dash. It has no software (I seem to remember it was DOS-based) or documentation.

Here is a picture of the dash. When I get the car I can be more specific.

    Any help? Thanks.

Unless you are trying to be strictly original replacing that with an AIM or Motec unit may leave you dollars and hours of frustration ahead.

As long as it works and provides good engine data I'll be happy.

Your going to need a license to download and configure.

Difficult to get club windows to work on new operating systems.

It is really only a matter of time before you get frustrated with this unit.

I might have some spares for this unit, but no way to make license file as Tom R has vaporized...

Tom Remedios provided my keys in the past. However, FrankRizzo has claimed to have written some code to produce license keys for our loggers. If that doesn't work, I would contact Cosworth directly.

All that being said, the Pi logger is Windows XP only and difficult to work with. I've switched to SoloStorm, and will upgrade to AIM as soon as possible.

The car supposedly is coming with the manual and programs - if anyone needs a copy. Now to resurrect the DOS machine.

Pi Club windows ran just fine on Windows 10. I did need a different USB to serial adapter cable. Having said that, my next car will not have a Pi system, even if it comes with one.

Not only did the car come with manuals, but a disk as well. Of course, I'll have to find an older 3.5" disk reader in the junk pile.

At least it is not the 5 1/4 floppy disk.

I might have the .exe in an e-mailable size. Not sure if there would be a problem with matching the license to your dash but I don't think it would matter.

I DID write an app to generate licenses for it. It has a possible serial number from 1 to 65535. So, that being the case, I adapted my app to allow me to generate ALL the licenses. And, I zipped them up, and here's a link:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/uod0sxvsc0...enses.zip?dl=0

Inside the file are ALL the licenses for ALL the dashes ever made. Find the one that matches your dash serial number, renamed it to lic000.clb, and place it in the Globals directory under your Pi install.

I have the Pi software installer as well if someone needs that too.

    So, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Is this a windows program, and if so what level will it work on?

    thanks from a tech dinasaur.

BTW I have two complete delta lite systems out of USF VDs that might be usable again.
