Does it have a current scca FC logbook?
Are the wheels 6/8? (they look wide, but photo hard to judge)
    thx

Since the engine doesn't meet the GCR rules my guess is no. I think the only thing this car needs is the QS FI - unless the engine isn't stock.

Hey cool! A twin to my car. Unfortunately a hard sale in the US has it has little place to run.

I thought this could run FC with 6 inch fronts I run 8s. Where are you located i may have some interested parties in Canada.

I've raced at Waterford and have not gotten an SCCA FC logbook. Yes being offered with Oz 6" and 8" wheels for FC or better in the New FX Division. I also have 8" & 10" rims available as an option that came with the car for Formula racing in Canada.

Since it is a Silver top Zetec, not possible in FC. It qualifies perfectly for the New SCCA FX division.

More upgrades: New NSK iradium spark plugs, New NSK wire harness, Rebuilt air intake. These three upgrades make so much difference. Lots of new power.

What would it take to make this SCCA FC legal? Is it just a question of adding the Quicksilver FI system and associated ECU?

David Simerly did a conversion project. Part of it was building a Zetec. Costs here:

    https://zeteccontinentalconversion.com/

So, ECU and FI about $3500

Where are you seeing $3500 for ecu? I assume this car is same as mine running FI with an MBE ecu.

Is a QS that much money?

    Pectel ecu about 1000.
    Quiksilver setup about 2500

    Those are both spec parts.

I don't know how accurate his numbers are or the condition of the parts.

I don't want to rain on the parade but this is a silver top engine .
As I understand, our friends at SCCA spec the black top engine . I would be curious of the current induction. Not obvious in the pictures.
    certainly a neat package.

One should probably read the GCR carefully. It’s very specific about what is legal and what isn’t in FC. Example: either a Pectel T2 or a Performance Electronics PE3 ECU is legal with the appropriate restrictor. The Zetec intake manifold, air horns, air box and filter are all spec Quicksilver parts. There is more; does this car meet the flat bottom rule? What gearbox is on it? What are it’s overall dimensions? What is the part number on the block or head? The list goes on.

Glad we don't have so many rules. I can help Chris by telling you it's an ld200. Chassis is same as FE so dimensions there would be the same.

Just a note, the new SCCA FX group is perfect for this car. FC not possible. So SCCA legal with National Championship to win.

GCR 9.1.1.B lists specific cars which are eligible for FX, and this is not one of them.
(If someone knows differently, please correct me.)
That said, I suppose one could petition for inclusion, but that's not a given.
