If someone at the track could share all that is going on that would be great!

Everyone I talked to wasn’t happy with the first session; cars crashing everywhere, and we only got maybe one or two fliers before the track got oiled down from the apex of 4 to turn 11... Tomorrow should see more people drop their times provided the track doesn’t get greased up

Never fails that a old-timer FV driver, getting lapped, gets in the way. This time, Charlie Turner made it into a spectacular finish. Without him, the top-3 would have been a couple seconds apart from each other.

The announcing crew was too polite. Ol' Charlie was either very well aware or absolutely oblivious, neither option is flattering.

After Coello and Kautz crashed with a lapper in the last corner on the last lap at Road America one year, I made the suggestion that slow cars should be black-flagged before getting lapped in a National Championship race. Those that are not proud enough to voluntarily retire, that is. I was called "elitist" ...... which is the one and only time that I was ever called that

But in the current environment of the Runoffs being a "festival" presentation, it would not be a bad idea to add just the slightest element of integrity to the process.

Brain death doesn't only happen in FV as a in attentive FF spoiled the F500 race.

I can see your outlook as a passionate fan of your class. However, it was SCCA that combined the classes, the car was not being lapped, and if you review the incident, the F500 kept the throttle on and understeered into the FF that was holding his line. I would agree that the mid-field FF could have been more courteous to the lead F500s, but it was certainly not a case of a chronic oblivious lapped driver racing with leaders trying to lap him for the 20th Runoffs in a row. Lapham managed the situation very well using the FFs as a pic, and put the pressure on, forcing the mistake.
