The main thing I'm looking for is that the body width is very close, as it's easy to modify the length to suit.

The body mold being made off my Crossle conversion is almost done and the new body looks like it will fit up nicely on the VD. Again, no cutting, hacking or welding is required and the car can be put back to original configuration quickly if desired.

I'm getting to the point in life (old) where I enjoy building as much as racing (almost ), so I'll be selling it when it's done if anyone is interested in a neat car for the 50th. It will be freshened up, including a rebuilt Kent engine.
just because I am curious... was there any more progress or pictures of the 82 VD version?

The guy who bought my Crossle' didn't want the cigar body so I still have it just sitting here in AZ. It definitely won't fit an RF94!

Great job, Gordy! Funny how different people get similar ideas all at about the same time. I never liked the looks of my 1975 Zink Z-10B, so when I was offered a NOS body for a McLaren M4A recently, I took some quick measurements and jumped at the opportunity. I haven't make a lot of progress, but I look forward to the results.

I finished it and had it for sale for a short time until I decided to redo it into a very authentic looking Gurney Eagle copy. So far I have converted the frame to 81 VD outboard style and built a completely new body . Should have it finished in a couple months. Got sidelined building a new shop this past summer so it go put on a back burner. Below is the ad, the car looks very different now.

I deleted the photos in the ad but this is what it looked like. I do have one spare body available, I know it fits 80-82 VD's, 30-35 Crossles, and anything with an approx. 22" wide frame. Conversion is pretty simple.
