The Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series announces the retirement of founding member Chris Shoemaker from the operating committee. Happily, we will continue to see him as a racing member with the series and servicing many of our events with Hoosier tires. Chris’s energy and drive were the guiding lights in the Series foundation 3 ½ years ago. His passion is moving mountains and that is what he has done for the RFFCS. Under VRG’s umbrella, we now boast over 100 racing members with up to 50 attending each meeting to enjoy great track time, racing and camaraderie at 6 major Eastern seaboard tracks each year. Chris does not want any fuss, but like it or not we intend to give him a rousing appreciation at our season-ending party at The Glen in October. So make sure you have that inked on your calendar and put in your event entry.
Joe Griffin, a stalwart from the start and one of the original rules makers, will join the operating team. We also want to hear from any of you who want to volunteer to spread the load – takes more than one to replace Chris!
This is also an almost last call for Pitt-Race. We are looking at close to 30 RFFCS entries for the inaugural VRG Event September 7 to 9. Momentum Motorsports will be there with scales and alignment tools. If you have yet to enter help us by getting an entry in so we can plan this amazing Crawfish broil (and how many cigars and how much whiskey we will need!). You are in for a treat at the very best of tracks.
