    Default 50th Anniversary Events

    Hello,

This may have been covered in past posts, however I can't find it.

Does anyone know what the groups will be for the 50th Anniversary events at Road America and Road Atlanta next year????

    Pre-19?? and Post 19??

    or Inboard and Ouboard?

    Any help is appreciated.

Default However, no complete answer yet on groups...

    I asked:

Steve - Looking forward to this race as part of the RFFCS (for me, Club Ford). You have mentioned Groups A & B but I'm not finding any definition of those group parameters. Can you describe what the Group A and Group B race cars are in general terms?

    Thanks,
    David

    David:

Groups A and B will be defined based on the composition of the entries. Per my post, drivers will be placed in a race group based on a number of factors. Speed potential (a DB-6 goes in one group, a Lotus 51 in the other) will be the primary factor but it will not be that simple. There are series like the RFFCS that want to race together. There will also be two drivers sharing one car. If there are slots available, some drivers will want to race in both race groups.

With the early entry window opening this fall, there will be time to get shuffle the deck and get everyone happily placed in a race group.

    Steve

So, he wants to collect early entry data which you are free to send him:

Here is a preview of the criteria that will be used to assign cars and drivers to race groups:

    Number of years racing?
Number of races in the last three years?
    Current license?
Number of races at Road America?
Best Formula Ford lap time @ Road America?

Chassis (Make / Model / Year)?
    Damper Locations (Front & Rear)?
Damper External Cannisters (Front & Rear)?
    Tires (Brand / Compound)?
    Chassis Modifications?
    Body Modifications?

    Home Club?
Home Club Classification (FF / CFF / VFF / Other)?

    Cross-over Entry?
    Multi Driver Entry?
Drivers, clubs, or series you want to race with?
    Group preference (A or B)?

This data will be collected during the early entry process which will go live this October. Two series have already reached out about racing together at the FF50th: the Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series and Formula Ford “The Series”. If there are drivers that you want to race with at the FF50th, it is not too early to get organized and put a list together.

The Right Coast Formula F Series (RCFFS) is holding the 50th at Road Atlanta in early November 2019. The preliminary event is at the ARRC event this year.

    Default FF50th @ Road America

Hello, everyone, I just noticed the question that started this thread. Here's what I can share as of today...

Early registration for the FF50th @ Road America will open this fall. Initially, entries will be placed into one of five classifications:
    (1) Vintage Formula Ford on treaded tires
    (2) Club Formula Ford on treaded tires
    (3) Formula Ford on treaded tires
    (4) Club Formula Ford on slicks
    (5) Formula Ford on slicks

Based on entry composition, these classifications may be further defined and sub-divided to fit 200 cars evenly into two race groups. Another consideration in race group assignments will be the various series that want to race together (The Crossflow Cup, Royale Formula Ford Challenge, etc). By opening the early registration window well in advance of the event, there will be time to sort all of this out.

I am working closely with the VSCDA on the early registration process. More details to follow. In the meantime, all previous FF50th news is neatly organized on my web site's FF50th page.

    Default 50th Rentals

    Hello,

If I was interested in renting a car for both of the 50th anniversary events (needs to be a Kent for Elkhart), are there pro teams that run Kent motors?

I'd like to have the potential to run at the front of the field.

    Thanks,

    Steve Shelton, Jr.

I have a very good kent Mygale that is available for SVRA events, including the remaining 2018 events, but no one has shown interest.
It is too soon to know the status of it for specific 2019 events.

Steve - If you're going to drive that Mygale at the ARRC in November, then I'm coming - to watch.

    Default ARRC in November

    John,

I couldn't sky dive into a newer FF, they are so tight in there. 20 years ago I drove a RF96 F2000 and it was tight then.

I'm doing this for my dad....I'd like for him to drive the 50th Anniversary Events next year.

I'll probably buy something for myself, but not unless I fit in it comfortably. I loved my RF81, if there is one available when I'm ready.
