The yellow Reynard should be there with John Powell driving it. An iron head Ivey is being installed this week.

I'm trying to make this happen - in my RF88. Possible co-drive as well. (Although the Citation co-drive intrigues)

    Default 18-0719 CM Entry...

Yesterday afternoon, the National office announced that they were raising the 2018 Solo Nationals entry cap from 1350 w FJ drivers to 1400 wo FJ drivers. The change in cap would allow a large number of those on waiting list to enter.

This morning, eligible folks on the wait list (~66 individuals) were given 24 hrs to enter. The event once again capped within a few hours with entry now sitting at 1400 + 18.

Comparing the latest entry to the previous, CM dropped one / picked up three and now stands at 32. CML is unchanged.

Attached is an image of how I read the latest CM enter; this differs slightly from the on-line version with Eric/Jonathan running 94/194 and Matt moving to 14 (from 114 as no co-driver).

Just 44 days to go until the start of the 2018 Solo Nationals!

They have there car to drive right they just need co-drivers, don't they? if not Krystal can co-drive with Dianne in the 84 VD.

If Brandon would have called me 1.5 months ago

New co-driver very fast, can't wait.

    From the above post:
"Still on the hunt for a co-drive" and from this thread:
    http://www.apexspeed.com/forums/show...my-85-Citation

I got the impression they're looking for a ride, not for co-drivers.

Personally, I just want to run with them again! (...and the championships need an asterisk if they aren't driving )

The tired and broken engine in the Reynard has be replaced with a low time Ivey. Hopefully, all goes well with two local events and we'll see everyone in Lincoln.

We are not sure what happened. We had the car at a NASAcross event at Peru a couple of years ago. John was just finishing a run when there was a bang and the engine quit. It didn't dump any oil and a visual inspection showed no holes in the block. So we pulled the head and didn't see holes in the pistons or cracks in the cylinders. We tried to spin the engine with the starter and it spun freely and didn't make any noises. So, we wiped the antifreeze out of the cylinders, filled the with oil and put the head back on. The one thing we forgot to check was if the distributor was tuning when we spun the engine. We are hoping that the distributor shaft snapped.

The engine will be going for a rebuild this winter, probably to Curtis Farley.

I was in Curtis' shop in January, and he said the place was for sale. There was a flow bench on fleebay a couple of months ago, and by the address, I figured it was his. Maybe his plans changed....

The Ivey engine is much, much stronger than the broken engine was before it broke. John DNF'd the first three runs due to arriving at the next element going too fast because of much greater acceleration. And it doesn't smoke like an FMod.

You did test fit the steel rims to make sure they cleared brakes n things, right? Checking because of the number of times in a previous day job folks would come back and say " the #@¢€en rims didnt fit"

Thurs/Friday , cool! I get to watch y'all run my working group... Wait. I get to work all 4 days.... All y'all be legal and don't do anything to make for a protest so I don't actually have to work. K thnks!!!

No, but is shouldn't be a problem. The Panasports have a 3.5 inch backspace while the Diamonds have a 3 inch backspace. I'll throw one in the truck and check for sure at the event tomorrow.

One or two heat cycles. Let tires rest at least 24 hours after first heat cycle.

What Lynn said, scuff them one or 2 runs to get rid of mold release or you may be a little more "greasy" on the first runs on course. That is more important than the relax time after in case you can't do both. Don't scuff months or weeks in advance because as soon as the surface is scuffed, oils will evaporate faster than the out of the mold surface.

We have been debating this as well.

At Crows we mounted a sticker set the night before, drove figure 8s in the paddock, then went out for run 1 on effectively 0 heat cycle tires the next morning. We were unfortunately the first group out so the course was cold and dirty (relatively speaking) but the grip was really unimpressive.

On the other hand, at Packwood we put a sticker set on and did 4 TNT runs, then put them away for the night. We found them to be better from Run 1 and I believe our strategy will be to put a handful of runs on our new set for nationals at the TNT before running.

With all that said, Eric Clements beat me both times and I believe with stickers on the grid for run 1 - so take my advice with a grain of salt...
