Championship Heats Up At CTMP
The VARAC weekend at CTMP featured a stellar 35 car field take to the track for rounds 4, 5, and 6 of the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship. It was a great weekend with 3 new winners in the F1600 A Class, Jake Craig (BGR Piper Race Cars), Kellen Ritter (Exclusive Autosport) and teammate Spike Kohlbecker all took home wins and blocked out the podium in each race. Michael Adams (Flagship Racing Services) swept the F1600B class over Craig Willis (Aim Autosport) who ran 2nd in all 3 races. Graham Lobbon (Lobban Racing) took the final podium spot twice and James Lindsay (Lindsay Racing) grabbed the final spot on the podium.
It is a very close battle for the points lead and the chance at the Mazda Road To Indy Ticket to the Shootout. The series heads next to Shannonville Motorsports Park July 6-8. The Super Series battle is also on as CTMP was the second event on the highlighted 4 weekend championship that is made up of 2 events from the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship and 2 events from the Quebec Formula Tour 1600 Series that includes Montreal, CTMP, SMP and the widely popular GP of Trois Rivieres.
