These cars are purpose built racers and are extremely reliable. The engines are basically stock and rebuilds are inexpensive compared to built race engines. There are (I think) 9 of these registered in VARA right now.
I am moving back into open wheel and would love to trade this car for a Formula Mazda or other car of similar value except for Formula Fords. I don't fit.

Yes. This was Bob Bishop's car and he is responsible for 100% of its coolness. Thanks for asking. I'm glad that is not lost on the Apex users. I should have mentioned it. This car is very well known at Willow Springs. We are having a small ceremony in his memory at Willow Springs at the VARA race in September.

Does it have the same (or similar) engine as Toyota FA?

The engine is the Toyota 4AGE which is the platform for the Toyota Formula Atlantic engine. This engine, however, is basically a stock MR2 engine as compared to the Atlantic engines which are built to a much higher horsepower level. The beauty of having an essentially stock engine is that rebuilds are exponentially cheaper than a full race motor. The 4AGE is known to be extremely reliable and pushes this car around nicely.
