Default Did ESPN screw us again?

I have my DVR set to record everything F1 and it recorded P3, but apparently it didn't record Qualifying. Was it not broadcast by ESPN? Maybe it was my local carrier.

Im finding it very difficult to get enthusiastic about F1 this year for the first time in 45 years . . . ????

OMG this is the best coverage ever. Get ESPN app for your apple or roku. It is on there whenever you want to watch it. Then get WatchESPN for your smart phone. Both are free if you have ESPN on your cable or Satellite feed. WatchESPN has Live and recorded feed on demand plus the times for live coverage. I play the replays in my shop while I work through my phone over the stereo system in the shop. Video is HD.

Time to get with new technology, makes life easier if you do.

They showed it but my DVR didn’t pick it up. I’m not sure if the guide was wrong or what. I routinely extend my recordings 120 minutes and so when Free Practice 3 ended and the DVR continued for another 2 hours, I noticed right at the end I got 4 minutes of Q1 before it shut off. I suspect the whole thing was aired but for some reason the DVR didn’t see it in the guide programming.

    Default F1 quali

We watched on SlingTV, good coverage. $20/mo, no cable. Also had F2 race, haven't watched yet. So far, so good.

Qualifying was not listed in my guide either, but I had ESPN2 turned on anyway, and sure enough qualifying came on. I don't know why the guide was incorrect, but it sounds like the problem was nationwide.

    Default Amazon Fire TV

I have a amazon fire tv hooked to our TV to watch movies, and after realizing I had a nice recording of P3 and a fishing derby on our DVR. I went to ESPN in the menu and low and behold, we had an excellent on demand version of the qualifying to watch on our main TV, no messing around with the DVR, no commercials even.

Try it if you have Amazon Fire try it. If not the unit from amazon is only 60 bucks...

My Dish Network DVR recorded all, practice, qualifying and the race. Great coverage with no ads.

    Default Fire TV

At the suggestion of a few here I watched the race on the ESPN app O my Fire TV. The coverage was good and no commercial made it even better. I'll be doing this in the future.

My point about promoting F1 in the US stands however. Fire TV is great for the already converted, but do you think they can attract new viewers this way?

No amount of TV coverage will make people fans. Either you are interested and seek it out or you watch NASCAR, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Cricket, Poker, Gunsmoke or Porn flicks.

Most people in the US don't understand a passing lane is for passing not doddling, you expect them to appreciate the technology, strategy and brilliant driving of F1? Make video game of F1 popular and you will get fans...oh wait Jean Todd did that already

My Direct-TV did not have Qualifying listed in their schedule so my preprogrammed recordings never picked it up. Since I was racing this weekend at Roebling, I was not home to search for Qualifying and could not get it at the track on other means.

The good news is that it was another commercial free race broadcast.

It's all on replay at ESPN, no need to record
