Canadian Vintage Grand Prix – Get Your Reservations!

While we’re under three weeks away from the Jefferson 500, we’re only seven weeks away from the Canadian Vintage Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (aka Mosport) near Bowmanville, Ontario. The Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series once again has its own run group (yes all Formula Fords) all weekend at this challenging, high-speed track. For those who don’t know, the facility now has world-class amenities (even including a playground). And a Friday night paddock party with food and live band, along with our usual generous raffles . . . and a Saturday night dinner, too.

There’s plenty of room left in our Formula-Ford-Only race group for entries – no need worrying about that – but hotel rooms typically become scarce at the event approaches. So, if you’re planning to go and not staying at the track now is the time to find lodging. Bowmanville is closest, but Oshawa is rather close as well (about 30 minutes). Other options to conventional hotels are lodging sites like AirBnB, as well as VRBO.

The Canadian Vintage Grand Prix also has a group for Toyo-Shod FF’s – any FF is good as long as it’s on the Toyo’s, but they’re mostly modern cars. On Friday there’s a “mixed” open wheel race, where our treaded vintage tires and cars go up against the F1600’s on Toyos. Sounds fun to us.

While the event remains open for entries all the way up until the green flag drops, for planning purposes it is greatly appreciated to get your entry in well ahead of time Also – last fair warning – make sure your crew all hold current passports! As long as you’ve got them and a little documentation - and don’t harass ICE - passage across the border is fast and easy.

Looking forward to seeing you at the races!
