    Default 01 VanDieman oil level

Have a new to me 01 VanDieman I'm rebuilding. Next few days will have oil in it but have no notes from the previous owner on oil level in the tank.

Can anyone tell me the recommended oil level?

    Thanks

High enough so the input shaft tube is not visible. Depending on your lines and cooling package it should be somewhere between 4 and 5 qts.

    Default Oil level

    Thank you Bill

Sounds like down about 3 inches from the top, ballpark.

But make sure you crank with plugs out of it after you fill it to that level. If your oil lines are empty they will suck about a quart of oil and then you will have to refill the tank to the proper level.
