    Default Donut Saver Installation Question

I've gotten donut savers for my Hewland but i can't convince myself what is the correct installation. Do the savers line up with the flanges or are they offset ? This picture shows what I mean by offset. The inner part (closer to the transaxle)of the saver would be bolted to the flanges of the drive shaft.
    Thanks,
    Jim

Hi Jim, you need to move the outer one. the savers should line up with the flanges on both the output shaft and the half shaft. If the donut was to break the pin and socket need to stop the halfshaft flying about.

What's the latest suggestion for sourcing the drive donuts? Seems to me someone said there was a BMW part with high quality and that some parts were being made with low quality.

    Default Alternative Drive Donuts

    The folks in RMVR,
    https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/rmvr...uts-t3945.html,
have this procedure and parts list. I did it on the only Elden I have with donuts and am very happy. Stopped any windup and install was very easy. I still use the donut saver for that just in case.
