Default FF50th @ Road America: Engine Rules

The FF50th will be open to Kent and Cortina powered Formula Fords of all ages.

For Formula Ford engine specifications, the VSCDA Technical Requirements for Race Cars follows Monoposto Racing rules which in turn reference the SCCA 2015 GCR. The 2015 SCCA GCR provides stable specifications for Kent and Cortina engines that Monoposto expects to continue referencing going forward.

Rules stability ahead of a big event is a good thing. So that everyone can prepare with confidence, the FF50th will also reference the 2015 SCCA GCR for Kent and Cortina engine rules. For anyone who needs one, I have a .pdf of the December update.

I've been away for a bit - what's the date for this event?

    Garey:

The FF50th will be September 18-22, 2019. Scroll down the forum. The "FF50th @ Road America" thread announces the event. There are a number of other threads with info on race groups, licensing, etc. More news to follow so watch this space.

Only 549 days (as of March 19, 2018) and counting!

    Steve

    Garey,
If you can't make Steve Beelers 50th at Elkhart in September of 2019 maybe you can make Joe Marcinskis and my Right Coast affiliated 50th at Road Atlanta Nov1-3 2019 in conjunction with the ARRC weekend.
Better yet, be at BOTH !!!!
With apologies to Steve for using his post to bark about a different event but we, Steve and us, have agreed to cross-promote and help each other in any way possible.
Hope to see you soon somewhere.
    Mike

I see Steves 549 days [as of March19 208] and add "only" 590 days until Nov 1 2019 and Road Atlanta [as of March 21, 2018]...
Now, who is going to check my math and correct that total.....

Have you got out your Abacus again Mike. Remember one of the beads fell off 5 years ago.

Yes, both please. Maybe I'll have both cars running at the same time, unlike the 4th when I lost the motor in the Zink right before the event.

Hi Steve, great work so far and thank you for organizing it. I'm very much looking forward to this event. Any idea what tires will be allowed?

    Reid:

I will start a new thread on FF50th tire rules. Directionally, the event will be open to Formula Fords on any tire. Tires will, however, be part of the equation that determines race group placement. Specifics to follow.

    Mike:

The FF50th @ Road America is for Kent-powered (and Cortina-powered, too, if anyone is still running one) Formula Fords of all ages, vintage, club, and modern.

Joe Marcinski and Mike Rand are organizing a FF celebration in November 2019 at Road Atlanta. You will find a thread on their event elsewhere in this forum.
