    Default Battery Recommendations?

    Hey all,

Spent a few days down in Atlanta with Giancarlo Di Coopola doing some wrenching on the ZebStohr.

During the process I think we managed to kill (or it was already dead/dying) the Ballistic 12-cell battery in the car, so I need to sort out a replacement before too long.

Wanted to know what suggestions, if any, the brain trust here has on battery replacements these days? I recall speaking with George Dean, and he was not a big fan of the Ballistic batteries, though I don't recall why off the top of my head. Hard on voltage rectifiers/regulators perhaps.

Are there new/better options out there, or are the Ballistics still a good deal for light weight and do well to start the F1000 motors?

    Thanks for any thoughts...

    -Jake

The wiring insulation on a voltage rectifier/regulator melted when I was using a Ballistic. I currently use the Antigravity 16-Cell "small case" LI battery, which measures 4 5/8" L x 3 1/4" W x 5" H. It has 480 cranking amps and weighs 3.5 lbs. The 12-cell may be adequate for standard compression engines.

Much appreciated David, thank you. I'll give George a ring when I get a chance too, get his take.
