Pat sold his inventory. There should be an announcement from the new owner soon.

    Default Pat Prince

Pat called me a number of months ago and said he had back issues and would need to re-tire from the kind of work we have known him for.

His skills will certainly be missed, hopefully he can remain active in the sport. What a great guy!

He is indeed done, but will be mentoring the new owner's fabricators. I will not comment on his whys, but have new owner's contact. If anyone wants it, pm me here. He sold all jigs, several hundred and everything else late last year.

I've seen the inventory that came from Pat. There's got to be jigs for damn near every formula car ever made.

    Pat is a true magician.

I once sent him a crumpled water tube with multiple compound bends and he made a replacement that fit perfectly with just a little trimming of excess material at one end.

    The end of an era.

The broken uprights and bent rockers i sent him always came back even better than original.

    Default Pat Prince

For the past 30 years Pat has helped me with my design and builds either by perfectly fabricating components I felt I couldn't do well enough (in the beginning) or mentoring and giving his knowledge freely.
He's not only an incredible craftsman but also about the nicest guy in the world.
The F Prod "Lotus" 7 he built for Tom Robertson back in the nineties still stands as the most finely crafted jewel like "7" ( or any space frame race car) I have ever seen and an inspiration for a future build of mine.
I'm glad to hear he's mentoring some new talent. Hopefully they will love their vocation as much as he does.

I sent Pat a few crumpled parts myself! He always laughed about what a mess I made of his beautiful work! He told me his DB1 A arms were almost bullet proof. I apologized about how I found the bullet on a turn 1 wall at Daytona! He just laughed and said ‘send em back I will fix them!’ Enough Morgan!

He also took the time to help me understand my alignment and set up and gave me his cell phone number and said I could call him anytime from the track if I had problems! What a great resourse to have! He will be missed by me.

when I first started racing around 2002-ish. I had a 1990 Euroswift SE1 FF. Not exactly a common car with easy to come by parts. I was sourcing parts from europe and after a few incidents I exhausted the euro supply so someone suggested calling Pat and seeing if he could make a jig and some bits from the good parts I had. Amazingly he already had the jigs!!!! Couldn't believe it!

I wish him well with whatever project he moves onto next!
Awww, come on guys, it's so simple. Maybe you need a refresher course. Hey! It's all ball bearings nowadays.

Wow. Just seeing this after trying to get ahold of Pat - a true loss for the hobby! I own one of his creations and I always marvel at the build quality - it is a treasure! All the best to Pat - a true gentleman!

Pat sold his operation to GMT Racing in Connecticut. He spent a month or so up there to explain and demonstrate the proper fabrication procedures. When he told me he was retiring it was a tremendous blow. Pat is not only a priceless fabricator but also a genius engineer. I called GMT about a part I needed knowing that Pat had the patterns and they told me they had no idea what or who I was talking about, what a shame.

Pat had surgery on his lower back discs and is doing well. I keep in touch with him regularly..........

I guess we all have to move on. Pat will be missed.

On a side note, if anyone needs fabricating work done you can not find a better guy than Alvin Brantley just outside Indy. 317.223.3118. He has done a couple of cars for me.

I find that hard to believe. Are you sure you talked to the right GMT racing. I know for a fact that they're cranking out suspension pieces like crazy. I'm through there at least once a week if not twice a week picking up and dropping off Cryo and REM orders.

No one likes change and new people taking over from a trusted old-timer, and it sounds like some communication issues have hampered the transition.

Mike, why don't you post a link to their website. Perhaps a contact name, email address, address and phone number.

Or if these people are out there, please introduce yourself. It sounds like there are a lot more people out there that would use your service if they knew more about you.

Okay, I exceeded my talent limit at VIR Saturday, and now I need parts for my DB-1, As Pat Prince is now retired, I was wondering if anyone has used GMT and what they thought of their work [quality, time to delivery, cost], I need rockers, A-arms, and a header repaired
