Hi,
Does anyone have any idea what the preferred temperature, as measured on the outside of the CV with an on board IR sensor, should be?
After talking to some drive line company's at the PRI show last week one person said no more then +200F. Unfortunately the CV's in our car are running around +250F with the stock MZR 2.0L (170HP at the wheels) Air ducting is under consideration to lower the temp, however, I am worried about potentially over cooling them.
We are getting ready to install an new motor with about 50% more power and I am concerned that the original CV's are going to get too hot and fail. The axle has about a 7 deg angle entering the CV witch is probably not helping the heat problem. We currently run the NEO grease and have not had any failures as of yet.
Does anyone know a CV expert that can help me?
