I would suggest shipping it LTL (less than truck load) with a company like SAIA or R&L.

The shipper will most likely need a forklift to help get it in the trailer. Or will need to bring it to the companies warehouse to get it in the trailer.

For the most part, this works pretty well and is cost effective.

I used BATS motorsports to ship my car to NM. It went in a 24ft trailer with 4 plastic boxes of spares and 3 sets of spare wheels and tires. Cost was very reasonable.

Oh dear lort. Please no. The nature of that beast is that it will get handled, jostled, loaded, unloaded numerous times from A to Z. Further their limits of liability are so low that if they pay a claim on such commodity the check will be insulting low. Lastly, if there is extensive damage, they will send a company like mine out to document the packaging configuration and condition in detail. Likely providing them enough ammunition to support a declination for improper packaging.

For reference SAIA would pay a maximum of 10cents a pound on said vehicle should it become destroyed or lost. If they stick a fork through the crate and puncture the body work and radiators, I weigh those components and they pay based on those weights (50# = a check for $5!!!) https://www.saia.com/resources/Forms/Saia%20170%20D.pdf see page 16 item 9. I'm not picking on SAIA, I do this type of work for just about every single large LTL carrier out there and they all have very similar language in their rules tariffs.

I have used Horseless Carriage several times for our Pipers from California to Buffalo. They have always been on time with delivery once they can schedule a truck that is heading east. Cost was around 2100 and payable in cash to the driver on delivery. Would use them again. May be pricey but the cargo is precious to me.

Another thought, I did on one occasion, fly to California, rent a Penske van, load two new cars into it and drove it to our shop just north of Toronto to drop the cars. Then had to return the Penske truck to Buffalo. Took 4 days, and still spent about 3400 to do it. Saved a bit of money, saw allot of asphalt, stopped in Indy to watch the LOR night before the 500 show which was fun.

Default Shipping car from CA to NY

I have used Sunday Auto Transport out of New Kingstown PA (800) 541-6601 twice to ship single cars with
good results and reasonable prices. Both times I was not in a rush to get them delivered to the east coast,
so i waited a couple of weeks until they had a full trailer for a better price.
