Default New to Me Crossle 45F

Just picked up my recent purchase... xBob Bruce 45F. Bertil Roos school in two weeks and SOOOO excited. Need some minor mods for taller driver so if there are any pics out there of pedals for taller driver, I'd love to see. Looks to be another 1-2 inches available down there and will push out the steering wheel the same amount. YAHOOOOOO!!!

Default Ex Bob Bruce Crossle 45

    Todd,
Congratulations. Smart buy, better than a fixer upper, this is top drawer. You have bought a fine car - no excuses with this one, its won at most tracks on the East Coast - spent many years looking at its gearbox for lap after lap. Look forward to seeing you out in it next year. Welcome to the lunacy.

Here's some video from 2012 - one of the many times I raced your car with Bob B driving.

Thanks for posting the awesome video Doug. Just back from 3 days of Allen Berg racing school at Laguna Seca with my brother. What an incredible event. I'm so amped up for the coming season. Thanks to all for the well wishes

I was able to move the pedal rack forward with little effort to gain about 2 inches. You can see the previous hole where the mounts attached through the belly pan. I'll only need to fashion a new stop for the go pedal. I was also able to find another inch behind the seat and move the steering wheel forward an inch so now fit comfortably in the car at 6'3". Also had a local shop add some custom work on the seat and head restraint for a period look and some padding for my old a$$. Having much fun.

Why a chain for the accelerator pedal? I would be concerned that the chain might bind at the wrong time.

It was installed by the PO to keep the pedal from flopping forward. Impossible to bind.

I've seen springs in the same position or a tab at the base of the pedal stem. If the cable sheath is closer there isn't a need for one.

Do yourself a favor and replace that chain with a low rate spring. Or make your brother do it.

You might have to adjust the brake and clutch pedal back a bit as they look like they are already over center - plus you want the travel to pump the brakes in case the fluid boils.... Use the old holes to/or rig up a heel stop - you might end up with a slight bit more of a bend in your legs but the additional safety of pedal travel will be worth it.
