    Default NJMP is up next!!

Just a few weeks ago, racing in mid-September seemed so far away . . . plenty of time to prep for New Jersey. Now, however, we're under six weeks and counting, so it's time to step up to the chassis and get the car ready!

Registration is open now and you can take advantage of early bird registration savings until August 31. You're a racer, not a procrastinator, right? Get onto Motorsportsreg.com to enter today. You'll save money and make the Event Chairs planning easier too.

When NJMP first opened its two tracks, Thunderbolt and Lightning, Thunderbolt, with spectator facilities and garages, was their "major" track, while Lightning was initially viewed as the "club" track. Years later it seems Lightning has stolen, metaphorically, Thunderbolt's thunder, because Lightning is the track that most racers overwhelmingly prefer!

Lightning has great flow, two blind brows and the iconic "lightbulb" turn, not to mention plenty of safe run off areas and that all adds up to a racetrack with both plenty of challenges and passing opportunities.

There's also great end of summer weather and our fabulous end of summer Royale Series Barbecue on Friday night (Hmmm . . .we might need to mix in some South Jersey "surf" with the usual outstanding barbecue "turf" this weekend).

But you come to race, right! Well, at NJMP there's also abundant (almost obscene!) track time for our group. We start with 3 sessions and 55 minutes on Friday; 3 more sessions and 60 minutes on Saturday (including the Royale Feature Race) and you'll have another 2 sessions on Sunday too and still be done by 11:30 on Sunday. This gives everyone plenty of time to travel home while avoiding vacation traffic.(southern racers take note - South Jersey is much closer than you think!)

Our many sponsors continue to support the series with great raffles and awards. We not only appreciate their support, but feel they deserve this shameless mention. While doing a Powerslide around a Cloverleaf, an unfamiliar Hoosier caused me to lift off the throttle and my Momentum changed like Quicksilver, taking me over a Stonebridge into Racequip pond. A quagmire Royale! And don't forget VRG, too (which I just couldn't work into the story).

Anyway, NJMP Historics is always a great event and we hope you'll be joining us!

Default Stop Playing Hard To Get!

The Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series summer break is almost over and early entry for the VRG NJMP Lightning event ends in just a few days. It’s a great track at a great time of year – the summertime shore crowds are all gone but the weather is still beautiful. There’s our Friday night barbecue and three days of abundant track time on a very safe and challenging course; it’s all over by noon on Sunday, giving plenty of time for the tow home. Those planning to come but not yet entered – Chris Shoemaker among others - we are not above shaming and naming! Your procrastination repairing your cars and getting entered makes it hard on everybody.

So, please do not model your behavior – early entry and otherwise - on Shoemaker. Get your entry in now, give everybody plenty of time for planning and save 35 bucks with the Early Entry. It’s also good for extra Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series points. Speaking of party planning, if anybody wants to volunteer to help with party operations, we can always use a bit of help with setup, cooking and cleanup.
