Default Morse throttle cable suddenly 3 cm longer

My WSR uses Morse cabling for the throttle. At an event this weekend the cable suddenly became 3cm longer. Anyone know how this can happen? It works fine and has the same travel but there is not enough adjustment at its ends to overcome the length difference.

You are best calling the company that actually made the cable you have.

My bet is that somehow you have stretched the inner cable and the next thing that will happen is the thing will brake. I would contact these guys http://www.controlcables.com/contact/

The ends are slipped over the cable and then crimped. I would bet that one or both ends were not crimped proper and have slipped. replace it b4 one of the ends falls off. Just my $0.02

The only direction the ends can slip would result in the cable sheath growing longer than the cable itself, resulting in a shortening of the available throw. For the cable to suddenly get longer in throw, it would have to be coming apart inside, and is most likely ready to break. Been through this before.

    Time to replace it.

The INNER cable ends are also slipped over the INNER cable and crimped. I'm talking about those slipping making what he describes happen. Agree it is time to replace.

Thanks for all of the input. It turns out the cable is fine. Its mounting broke and then rotated up on it's bolt effectively lengthening the cable. It was hard to see at first because it all looked intact.
