Default Helmet Works, Tampa, FL/ Jerry

A while back, I posted here a request for someone to paint my racing helmet. The reason for this is that last year, my father passed away and one of the things that was most sentimental to me was his last helmet. It is Bell with a SA 1985 rating. I thought it would be cool to, as a tribute, have the paint scheme duplicated on my GP2.

I realize that polished Carbon Fiber looks very cool and that most of us these days don't wear painted helmets anymore. Staying apolitical and not trying to offend anyone, I believe that my father is, or would be proud of this tribute. Doesn't matter. I will enjoy every lap...

Jerry from Helmet Works in Tampa reached out to me with a quote. The price was more than fair, and he assured me he would give the attention to both the project helmet and the irreplaceable one that would be shipped along with it for duplication.

I am no painter, but can only imagine the time to strip a Bell GP2 of clear coat over vinyl graphics and also to get close on very distinct lines of a 32 year old helmet shape.

Jerry pulled it off in spades, and I just want to thank him publically, and invite anyone looking to have a custom paint job to consider Helmet Works for the project.

    Thank you Jerry !

Very cool and a nice tribute to your dad.

Am I missing something? Are we really not painting helmets anymore? I really appreciate a well painted helmet. I have two that turned out pretty well. I've been racing vintage events and maybe it's different there.

Jerry is awesome! He's done a couple for me including a very special helmet for my niece.
Give him a little bit to go on and let him run with artistic freedom! You won't be disappointed.
