Default So are they beetle axles?

I have a bent axle shaft and after disassembly and taking some measurements i can't find any difference in the axles from 69-79 vw beetles. Anyone know if anything is done to the axle or cv joint for fm application? Stronger shaft? If not, remanufactured beetle axles are $40 a pop.

    Default Axles

Call SWAYAWAY in S. California, they make axles and have CV joints for VW and a number of others for the off road racers. Just noticed they no longer have CV joints.

    Default Axles

Same length as Beetle, but stronger. Sway Away makes the axles for us. We always have them in stock.

The only difference is now they are powder coated RED.

We also always have CVs in stock

Thanks for the reply. Got a set to compare to my spare fm axles, it looks like the spline area is 1mm larger in diameter than the standard beetle axle.

They are standard type 2 spline . 33 x 27mm . Spend a couple extra bucks and put a purpose built axle back on your car . Dont put an OEM VW axle in its place .We are talking about a race car here . We sell hundreds of Sway Away axles a year that run for many hours . It is worth every penny
