Default Round #1 -- VDCA 'Wild Hare'

Dust the cobwebs off the car, pack your Nomex and kick the tires - its time to get cranked up again. Round 1 of The Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series happens April 7-9 at Virginia International Raceway, with the 15th VDCA Wild Hare meeting. Using the full 3.27-mile course, this is a terrific track with great history, challenging slow and fast turns, the famous climbing esses, all in beautiful rolling countryside. If history is any guide, the Ford race will be closely fought.

Encouraged by Doug Meis, VDCA has listened to our requests for more exclusive Formula Ford sessions and, despite the limited track time available to VDCA, (they share the event with the BMW Club) they have agreed that we will have three Formula Ford only races – two Saturday and the Challenge race Sunday, plus Friday practice and qualifying with the sports racers and a possibly mixed race Sunday afternoon with any non-S2000 racers. VDCA has created the best FF schedule possible at this iconic track; now we need to follow through with entries to support that decision and put the Wild Hare and the Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series on a sound footing (pun intended) for the future.

It will be a relaxed and fun show including:
    • Friday night Royale barbecue, food and drinks included, Plus –
    • Raffles for Hoosier Formula Ford tires (one pair per class), KFP brake pads (courtesy Powerslide Motorsports), and Quicksilver RacEngines labor.
    • Stonebridge Cryogenic and Momentum Motorsports awards (good for REM/Cryo treatment and alignment labor, respectively), as well as an award sponsored by RaceQuip.
    • VDCA dinner at the track Saturday evening – the BEST dinner of the season (Sorry to all other track dinners - this is the one you should all aspire to. And thanks for setting the standard, VDCA!).
    • 7 sessions - Three Formula Ford only races – 2 Saturday and the Royale Challenge Race Sunday, plus 2 practice sessions Friday and warm up and additional race Sunday.
    • Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series group photo and awards presentation immediately after the Sunday Royale Challenge Series race.
    • NEW 'Field Champion' Award introduced for 2017 (a drivers choice award)

The Green Flag has dropped and registration is open at: http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...ay-vdca-297564 Early Bird entry is $500 so save $100 now!

What better way to start the year than at a spectacular track in Virginia in Spring! Get you entry in and we look forward to seeing you.

If you have questions about your eligibility for a Formula Ford race entry, please contact Chris.shoemaker@royaleracingllc.com

    See you at the races!
