    Default Merlyn MK29A shock question

Hi all. Can somebody tell me what brand of shocks/dampers Merlyn originally put on the MK29A? The only thing I can find on my fronts are 215 65. They were a school bus yellow kind of color. Thanks in advance.

Spax are always yellow in color so maybe that's what they are?

The numbers tell the tale. They are most likely Bilstein shocks. The numbers indicate the bump and rebound values. They are repairable by Bilstein for reasonable cost.

    Default shocks

They probably are Bilsteins, a much better shock than the original Armstrongs that came on every Merlyn I had.

Depends on your purpose. Go with the bilstens to keep it oringinal or put on penske 8100 and pick up several seconds a lap and feel like a super hero!
