After black flags on Friday and rainy weather on Saturday and Sunday AM, the Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series feature race started with a cool, dry and breezy conditions late Sunday morning, October 9. Bernard Bradpiece, starting from pole position, was never really challenged for the lead, but had it gone a few more laps, he would have been. Frank Newton, a celebrated Midwest racer with VSCDA, took the bit mid-race and charged up through the field, posting fastest lap and passing several faster qualifiers along the way.
For this fantastic show, Frank has earned the Hard Charger Award, offered by Stonebridge Cryoscience. Frank gets $100 credit toward either cryogenic treatment or REM Isotropic Super Finishing. Congratulations, Frank – and thanks to Stonebridge for the award!
