    Default Side Intrusion Panels

How far up rom Bottom rail are you required to have your side intrusion panels? And can you weld gussets on the middle of your chassis and have smaller individual triangular panels that way?

Read GCR 9.1.1.B.3.e (page 292-293 in the November 2016 issue). The panels go from top rail/tube to bottom rail/tube. The materials and allowed methods of attachments are covered in this section. Whether or not you have additional gussets or tubes, the number of allowed fasteners over the entire area does not change.
