Anyone want to discuss options for racing a FF/CFF in this part of the country? (is it too early for this topic?)
If your planning on Indy, then 2017 is a no brainer.. Pick a qualifying path, and forge ahead.. But, if not, I'm curious to hear what people think. Beyond Majors, the waters seem a little muddy, unless your committed to stepping away from SCCA, or putting in some serious tows..
Combined Cen Div, and GL Div participation numbers in 2016 were dismal.
FF avg. 2.3 cars while CFF was at .7 (these are only regional numbers, no Majors)
I know there are some groups enjoying success with car counts..
RCFFS, VRG, and the Ontario Canadian series all seem to be getting numbers, but with the exception of the RCFFS Mid-O event, and you could make a case for Mosport for us Metro Detroiters, most of these events are near a 10 hour tow one way.. (I'll skip the multiple tire options for now)
Steve B's EWC did a great job getting people and cars together. With Indy in 2017, and some early excitement for the 50th building anyone think something similar could be supported again? Or is the thinking that there are just not enough cars/racers and it's pretty much Majors or bust in these divisions?
Just curious what people think. Not only for 2017, but beyond..
