    Default Help Identifying Vintage Shocks

Hey guys. I recently purchased a vintage FF and looking forward to start entering some events next year. I'm going through the car, doing basic maintenance, and changing or rebuilding parts as needed. I am now through the easy fixes, and have worked my way to the suspension. I would love to get some adjustable Penske's or Koni's, but my budget just doesn't allow it (unless someone has some used ones they want to sell).
Anyway, looks like my current shocks are at the end of their useful life. Each of them seem to have their own resistance for compression and rebound. I'd like to see if they can be rebuilt, but I have no idea what brand they are, or if they can even be rebuilt at all. Can you guys help me identify the brand? They have no identifying logos or marks at all, except for a few encrypted letters and numbers.
Can you guys help? Please see attached pics.

    Default Shock ID

They are model 8211 steel shock and they are the best choice for a pre 72 FF. There are many rebuilders the last set I had done where by Archie Hodge.

    Good luck

Hit up Mike Sauce. He is in Arlington, near you. He probably will have a local shock guy, if not himself. Saves you shipping and they may let you watch and learn as well. He is also a really nice guy and has some really neat stuff to view at his shop. I spent about an hour there a couple of months ago, just admiring the cool cars and meeting him. It was worth my time.

Wouldn't Armstrongs have numbers to show adjustment settings?

Measure your mounting bolts, and replace eyelet hardware. Very important.

Those look very beat, maybe salvageable, but I would have someone take a good look at them. Other than tires, probably the most important factor in handling.

I sent them to TrueChoice for a Koni rebuild, and apparently these shocks are old SPAX. Not rebuildable.

Anybody have some Koni 8211 available for sale? Need some vintage steel shocks that won't break the bank.

    Thanks!
