    Default An Example

Watch this video. Then realize these kids race like this three times a weekend every weekend of the series. It is the most amazing thing to witness. The leaders rarely cause a caution. They run wheel-to-wheel lap after lap with respect to those around them.

It really should be on TV. Weekend after weekend of photo finishes. This sportsfans is real racing.

The 1600's put on a show. We try to make a point of stopping what we are doing and watching at least one 1600 race per weekend.

I see sharp driving, but more importantly I see trust. Looks like earned trust.

Folks, Please realize this level of competition happens in every race they are in. Not an exception.
There are no boring F1600 races!

Illusion; it was dry the whole time. But yes, absolutely, on all the rest.

Wait, I take that back, sort of. It was foggy, and the grass was damp :-0

Yea, it was also going on in the early eighties with 30-40 car fields and no cameras. That doesn't change how good the racing is now.

I think part of this is the need to emphasize the continued relevance of the F1600 race car and why it is such an essential training tool for kids coming out of karting.

Yep, immediately reminded me of a kart race, just bigger and fewer cars.

Agreed Bob, look at the number of passes in one lap, move Neil made up the S's & the move Peter made to split the middle down the back straight, without anyone blocking, was extremely impressive. Look at how close those cars were & off the back straight into Hog's Pen is very tough to not touch there as close as they were.

You don't see this type of passing once you add wings so some drivers will not learn the skills of running side by side near as well as those who run F1600 for a season. F1600 is hard to break the draft, which makes what Neil did at the Runoffs even more impressive but I can assure you, every FRP F1600 weekend, most races looked like this last lap.

Reminded us old farts of what used to be pretty common - except in fields of 40-90 cars.

I don't think the karts are going over 140 mph. Just saying...

Depends which kart race you are watching...I stated it reminded me of kart racing. That's a good thing...the closeness of the racing, the control, the braveness, the level of competition. It's exceptional.

I didn't know we were comparing the performance, but we certainly can start another thread about that if that's the direction you were wanting to go....just saying Stay safe out there and everyone else in the SE!
