    Default Reynard Formula Ford FF-75

    Hi everyone,

I just acquired a Reynard Formula Ford- 75 (built 1975). The car is in pieces- mostly complete. Missing Hewland- that's about it. I'm debating restoring it- but also wondering how good of a car it was before I dump money into this- was it a well respected car in period? I know there are only 3 or so of these in the US. It runs Club Ford I assume which means i can run with most of the vintage formula fords (although in a different class).

Let me know if anyone has feedback for me.

    Thank you, Paul pjoyaux@rmbcap.com

Congrats Paul, sounds like a great find.
Most Vintage clubs have a Club Ford class for 1973-'80 Formula Fords. Most SCCA Regions also have a Club Ford class, you might just be able to enjoy both worlds (even on the same tires if you're lucky). How competitive in these classes your Reynard would be usually depends more on the driver and his set-up skills than the actual cars of that period. Besides, would you be racing that car only if it can take checkers, or so that you can race a piece of history? Crossles and Titans seem to be out front in most CF classes, why not give them a run for the money in something different ;-)

The 75 was one of Adrian's first designs, only 11 or so built. They have some improvements over other cars of the period, particularly the cast front uprights instead of Triumph Herald uprights and spindles.

There were so few made, I think its very worthy of saving.

I'm guessing the other 10 were built under the table

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of Reynard_Motorsport_cars

Of course if you look down that table, it says only 3 SF89 FC's were built. Which would mean we once owned a rare one. So, I suspect that table isn't accurate

    Default Uprights

The front and rear are fabricated not cast. But still very nice condition and nicer to look at than triumph uprights....
