Very interesting stuff. A little fluffy.

One question for those in the know. The interview with Honda's Mark Sowers, he said the engine is $6600 for a 3 year lease and you get the engine at the end. Does that include the trackside support and repair (its sealed)? That's a bargain.... I previous heard $12k/year.....

Yes! Cool video! I just wish they had included more info about the engine manufacturer. There were spots where it went almost a full MINUTE without mentioning their name!

Great exposure for the series and the drivers. I think a subtler message (Honda) would have been better but whatever. Precious little actual driving footage but I guess the racing is mostly strung out so gotta keep the sponsor message front and center. Hopefully future installments do a deep dive into each team, to get the human interest angle going.

I thought Carolinas Production Group did a great job on that video. Really great camera placement for the interviews and such. Always getting all the sponsors logos in view and in focus. Good scenics for filler. Good editing. Got all three races summarized to fit into a commercial TV 30 minute show. I was impressed at the whole production.

I only wish FRP could have afforded to do such a thing years ago. We shot a lot of still photos. But never really a true production video for the masses.

As Tom Wolfe documented, "no bucks, no Buck Rogers."

When is the last time any other manufacturer did a classy video for formula car racing in the US?

I agree, was a little heavy, but that's life today in all sports pursuits.

No different than Indy coverage for example; the cars no longer stop for fuel and tires, its an endless repetition of the commentators' phrase "four new Firestones and a load of Sunoco fuel".

Which I blame on NASCAR. As that's the 1st place that I heard it done.

    (Pardon any unintentional naivety)
Hmm.. I wonder how much of this has to do with races being more of a TV thing now, than an in-person thing?
