    Default Engine stopped running

I was running my engine today in preparation for doing at least the test day at Road Atlanta when it just quit like I had turned off the switch. Now there is no spark. There is 12V at the coil. I want to go ahead and replace the coil and the Pertronix module as they are both old. I have been using a Bosch Blue coil. I am thinking about changing to the Flamethrower. Can someone give me the correct part # for the Pertronix module? The number on mine is 10AC-V4 which doesn't seem to exist anymore.

    Thanks,
    Garry

Kind of in a time crunch for getting the stuff ordered.

Look at the wires inside the distributor, the pertronix are known to have a problem with the wires rubbing against the shaft and shorting.

From formula vee.org: The standard Pertronix unit is the 1847A for the 009 distributor.

Thanks for the info. Ordered it all from Amazon! Yeah, I discovered that rubbing/shorting deal and showed it to several people.

    Thanks again,

After replacing the coil and Pertronox module, still no spark. As I was turning it over, I noticed the tachometer wasn't working on the display. I unplugged the tach wire from the coil and it fired right up. I wonder what that means.

    Gary,

Check your tach wire for a dead short. Might be the wire or, could be a bad tach (rare IMO).

The tach wire is shorted somewhere, or the Tach/Dash is shorted.

I have one of those Aim RPM signal filters inline. I guess that went bad.
